2008 ~
I can
only remember one Barbie when I was young. There was the little
girl who lived down a country road from my Aunt. Her name was B. Tinsley
and she brought her Barbie over a couple of times so we could play.
I was maybe around ten years or so.
The first
Barbie
I
bought was for my own daughter Dawn when she was young. She played with
them a little but ... she was never too interested in them because she
was more of a tomboy kind of like her mom.
Since
I was raised country, poor, very few toys and several brothers I didn't
have a Barbie or .... that's ok I survived :-)
The next
time I remember buying a Barbie was for my grandaughter Ash in the
mid - late 90's. I give them to her as gifts now and then. There
are a few still here and all hers, still waiting for Ash to take them over
and either display them or keep for her daughter.
A few
months ago my hubby and I were talking about Barbie dolls and
I told him I really didn't have dolls when I was young. No Barbie or
Ken's!
For Christmas 2007, that funny crazy hubby bought me 'my First Barbie'.
A 2007 Holiday Barbie, she was cute but ....... then I just happened
to see a
1959 Ponytail Barbie on a website WOW, now she was
really the cutie.
I'm not
sure what it was, but the older and First Barbie's to me
are the Best Barbies! ~ Well, that was all it took I guess....
Ok, now
I'm hooked :-) and enjoying every minute of it!
